3. Description of the local project:
The orphanage “Zatik” is located in Yerevan, not far away from the city center. There are 100 children living in the orphanage “Care”, who study at different schools of the city. Most of the children have lost their parents.
The main goal of the project is the help to the educations in the work with children-orphans, to provide educational activities and to help them to get prepared for the independent life, to help them in their everyday tasks etc.
Involving of German volunteers into the everyday life of the orphanage will be a great opportunity for this project as the children will learn about the culture and traditions, life of youth of Germany. The presence of the German volunteer will enrich the program offered to the orphans. The discussions with the children on different subjects will enrich the ideas and points of views of children.
Orphans need care more than other children, they needhelp and education, to become good members of society in future. The volunteer together with the educators will be involved in the organization of different cultural programs, where children will learn to paint, sculpture, sing and dance, they will also learn some basic abilities in theatre, art and pantomime.
The possibility to organize a big performance with the children is also foreseen. The decorations and text will be prepared by the volunteer with the help of the children. Also, depending on the abilities, knowledge and fantasy of the volunteer, he/she will be able to offer different games and German language courses to the children.

6. Description of the tasks of the volunteer:
The main activities of the volunteers will be organized with children.
- The volunteer will work mainly with children aged 5 to 15 years. He/she will assist in offering workshops and leisure time activities to the children, organizing lessons of German language and helping children to do their homeworks, organizing working groups where the children can draw, sculpture, learn different national and foreign songs, games, dancing, etc.
- The volunteer will participate in and organize meetings and educational games, using his/her own experience and ways of working in his/her country.
- He/she will introduce German traditions, customs and culture, dances and games which will make children to easier understand the volunteer. He/she is expected to teach the children the German language

HUJ-04: Rehabilitation Center for Children

3. Description of the local project:
Yerevan Rehabilitation Center for Children with motor-system infringement and cardiac-vascular system illnesses. Founded in 1991 is the only specialized clinic and Rehabilitation Center in Armenia, providing stationary and ambulatory service for children with disabilities through all the year Center is equipped with up-to-date medical equipment. The rehabilitation Center is also organizing educational-medical programs for students
The Center is situated not far from the center of Yerevan in a very picturesque place, surrounded with nature. The Center used to be the territory of former governmental villas and is surrounded by the Yerevan lake.

The ability to teach German songs and dances to children, interest in working with children, organizing free time activities, sport activities, communicating with parents, organizing evenings and discussions for them.
6. Description of the tasks of the volunteer:
The present of a German volunteer gives the children the possibility to learn about the German culture and society and teach them tolerance. It will help them to integrate into the society in the future. The volunteer will organize different interactive teaching lessons on geography, ecology etc
The task for the volunteer will be all activities with children between 4 and 15: Organizing leisure time activities, sport activities, workshops on painting and sculpturing, teaching German songs and dances, helping the children with homework, organizing workshops to promote the creative abilities of the children. The volunteer will learn about the limited perspective that these disadvantaged children have. The volunteer will be participating in the seminars which are organized for the staff on the work with disabled children, will learn methods of work etc. The volunteer will also be in communication with the parents of the children, he/she will organize discussion meetings for them and help them in their work with children.
HUJ is offering two days on-arrival meeting and two days mid term meeting. We’ll have a joined meeting in HUJ office with the participation of Rehabilitation Center staff to evaluate the activities done by the volunteer. The meeting will be organized in the way of discussion.
The volunteer will also participate in the seminar-trainings organized by the staff of the Center which will help the volunteer to get more motivated for the work activities.

HUJ-05: Hopeshine

3. Description of the local project:
The school N14 for children with eyesight problems was established in 1939 in Yerevan. This school is the only one in Armenia where the education is organized with Braille system. Most of the children stay in the school and return only for the week-end. The school gives children secondary and specialized education.
The main aim of the project is to work with children who have different kinds of problems concerning eyesight, blindness. There are different creativity workgroups in the school during which the volunteer will be asked to assist children - painting, handicrafts, singing, playing piano, dancing, etc., and during which the children get used to different kinds of arts which they can use in future.
The staff of the school needs help to organize more activities for the children, help in teaching foreign languages and bring new ideas and interests to their work.

The volunteer needs to have educational experience and work experience with children (playing, school activities, workcamps with children). Also he/she needs to be interested in different art aspects like: painting, singing, dancing and etc.
It’s preferable that he/she speaks Russian, English or French.
6. Description of the tasks of the volunteer:
- The volunteer will help children to participate in all arts workshops and to support the staff in organizing these activities (painting, sculpturing, handicrafts, etc.)
- Assist teachers in elementary foreign language teaching
- He /she will establish social contact with individual children and their parents by chats and games
- He /she will present his/her country and culture to the children, organize dancing and singing events, teach songs and etc.
- Create workshops on different interesting topics
- Excursions and outdoor activities
- The volunteer will have the task of help organizing exhibitions of the art works
of the children on different topics

3. Description of the local project:
The „weltwärts“ project „Open world“ will take place in Yerevan in Medical Psychological Pedagogical Center for children with different kinds of disabilities. The Center is situated not far from the center of Yerevan. It was established in 2007 and there are 35 children getting education and treatment in the center now. The motto of the Center is “The world is open to everyone”.
The main aim of the Center is to open children´s physical, mental and psychological peculiarities, to develop and open new talents in children who have mental and physical problems. The main aim of the Weltwärts project is to work with children who have got different physical disabilities, to educate and train them and to make them feel equal members of society. The volunteer will be involved in all programs and will be encouraged to propose his/her own ideas and suggestions. The volunteer will live and work with the local community.
Apart from working with the children, he/she will have the possibility to spend his/her free time with them and to learn a lot about Armenia. The volunteer will be involved in discussions and seminars about the future of the children and will be able to share his/her opinion on the situation. With the help of the volunteer they will be able to organize more workshops, in which the children according to their health can draw, sculpture, sing and dance.

There are no gender, age and other requirements for the selection/ recruitment of volunteers. The volunteer should be interested or have some experience in working with children; he/she should be kind, communicative and reliable.

The volunteer will participate in most activities with the children and have a variety of different tasks:
- The volunteer will have the opportunity to participate in all arts workshops and to support the staff in organizing these activities (painting, sculpturing, handicrafts, etc.)

Sie versammelt Filmschaffende, Journalisten und Naturwissenschaftler, die sich für die Erhaltung der einzigartigen Natur- und Kulturdenkmale des armenischen Hochlandes engagieren. Seit 2008 vermittelt ijgd Freiwillige zu FPWC.
FPWC-1 Following the sun

Seit 2006 betreibt die FPWC das Umwelt- und Medienbildungsprogramm „Following the Sun“, in dem Kinder und Jugendliche ihre Umwelt „durch den Sucher“ neu entdecken. In regionalen „Eco-Clubs“ erfahren sie von bedrohten Tier- und Pflanzenarten, lernen den Umgang mit moderner Medientechnik und erkunden bei Expeditionen die unbekannten Seiten ihrer Heimat. Die Fotoausstellungen und Kurzfilme, die die Kinder gemeinsam mit Medienprofis produzieren, erschließen ihnen einen – oftmals ersten – Zugang zu den sensiblen Natur- und Kulturgütern, deren Zukunft ihnen anvertraut ist. Und dass die jungen Fotografen und Filmproduzenten auch kritischere Fernsehzuschauer, Radiohörer und Zeitungsleser werden, ist mehr als nur ein erwünschter Nebeneffekt.
Selbstverständlich spielen die Eco-Clubs und ihre Produktionen eine wichtige Rolle beim zweiten großen Projekt der FPWC, dem regionalen Umweltfestival „SunChild“. Bei öffentlichen Kundgebungen und Umweltaktionen wie z.B. Müllsammlungen und Baumpflanzungen machen die Kinder auf die großen Umweltprobleme des Landes aufmerksam. Ihre Filme und Fotografien nehmen an dem internationalen Umweltfilmfestival teil, das den Kern des SunChild-Festivals bildet.

Freiwillige arbeiten während ihres 12-18monatigen Aufenthaltes an beiden Projekten mit. Sie unterstützen bei mehrwöchigen Arbeitsaufenthalten an verschiedenen Orten Armeniens die örtlichen Eco-Clubs, planen und organisieren mit den Trainern Unterrichtseinheiten und Expeditionen. Dazwischen kehren sie immer wieder nach Jerewan zurück und beteiligen sich an der Koordination der Eco-Clubs durch die Geschäftsstelle der FPWC sowie an der Aufarbeitung ihrer Arbeitsergebnisse, zum Beispiel im Rahmen der Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit. Sie unterstützen die FPWC bei der Vorbereitung und Organisation des SunChild-Festivals.
