European Voluntary Service (EVS)
With the European Voluntary Service young people can become active abroad. They have the opportunity to live and work in a non-profit project where they will be able to to collect new impressions, ideas and perspectives.
Volunteers will be pedagogically accompanied before, during and after the voluntary service. Language skills are not required.
Since 1996/1997 the ijgd has been offering the European Voluntary Service for 6 – 12 months. As sending organisation, the offices of the ijgd operate in Berlin, Bonn and Magdeburg.
The European Voluntary Service is a part of the EU education programme European Solidarity Corps and is aimed at strengthening solidarity, active European citizenship as well as a mutual understanding amongst young people.
Entitlement to child benefits persists during the European Voluntary Service.
