The International Youth Volunteer Service (IJFD)
The International Youth Voluntary Service (IJFD) is a non-formal educational year for youth and young adults between 18 and 26 years of age, who would like to be involved with a social or cultural organisation for a year. Volunteers become involved for the common welfare and thus gather intercultural, sociopolitical and personal experiences.
The ijgd has access to deployment projects for volunteers in Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, New Zealand, Norway, Palestine, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, Spain or the United States.
Each year, the ijgd sends young people abroad for 12 months in the framework of the IJFD. The departure for this is always in August/September.
The IJFD was formed in 2011 and is funded by the Bundesministerium für Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend (The Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth).
During the duration of the IJFD volunteers still have a right to receive child benefits.
