Voluntary Social Year in Science, Technology and Sustainability
Are you interested in sustainability and environmentalism? Are you particularly interested in the technical and scientific aspects of these? Perhaps you would like to do something practical before starting university, or perhaps you just want to do your bit for the environment? If so, then a Voluntary Social Year in Science, Technology and Sustainability (FJN) is exactly right for you.
The FJN programme is a special type of Voluntary Social Year. You could spend a year working in research institutions, universities, associations or institutes for the environment and energy technology. As well as doing your bit for the environment and climate protection, you will learn about sustainable careers, which might help you decide on your future career or study choices. Training seminars are held alongside the programme. You can actively participate in these to gain new knowledge, meet new people and further develop your social competencies.
The FJN programme is open to young people aged 16 to 26. It usually begins on 1st September each year.
An overview of the federal states where we offer the FJN programme can be found under Contact.
