weltwärts

Through the weltwärts programme we find you a place at deployment sites in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Placements on the weltwärts programme are not so much about volunteering your time to help others. Instead, they focus more on intercultural exchange, formative experiences and gaining insights into socio-political contexts. You can spend time on things such as working with disabled children in Ecuador, helping out on a model farm for ecological agriculture in the Philippines, getting involved with a mobile library in Togo, or supporting a tortoise protection project in India.

The weltwärts programme is open to young people ages 18 to 28. Volunteering placements start every year in September and usually last for one year. An overview of countries in which we offer the weltwärts volunteer programme can be found under Contact.
