Volunteering with the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) gives you the opportunity to get involved in projects in almost all European countries. You spend a year living and working in the country on charitable projects and will gain many new insights, ideas and perspectives.
What’s special about the ESC is that you are usually working together with several other volunteers from European countries. This allows you to get to know other young people from across Europe. The range of projects is huge: Many projects focus on education, for example, projects in schools and nurseries for disadvantaged children in Hungary, a youth centre in Belgium leading workshops on the theme of peace, or libraries in Poland and Lithuania.
The programme is open to young people aged 18 to 30 who live in Germany. The programme usually starts in summer/autumn each year.
