Voluntary Ecological Year / Ecological Federal Voluntary Service

We’re looking for climate warriors and organic gardeners! Do your bit for nature, the environment and the climate! During a Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ) or Ecological Federal Voluntary Service (ÖBFD) you will experience ecological working practices and help shape a sustainable future. The focus is on our planet as a habitat for all living things. You could work in places such as organic farms, educational institutions or environmental protection organisations.

FÖJ and ÖBFD programmes are aimed at young people aged 16 to 26 and are intended to educate and inform your career choices. You can spend one whole year trying out many different areas of ecological work and gain experience that will drive forward your personal development. You will receive an official reference for your work.

A Voluntary Ecological Year usually begins on 1st September each year. The Ecological Federal Voluntary Service can be joined at any time throughout the year. An overview of the federal states where we offer FÖJ and ÖBFD programmes can be found under Contact.

To get more information, please give us a call or send an email!

People aged 27 and over are also able to participate in the Ecological Federal Voluntary Service with us. More info about this can be found here.
